This Year’s 30 for 30

As April approaches, so too does National Poetry Month and the annual 30 for 30 Poetry Celebration featured on this web site. As noted in a previous post, this year’s event is being sponsored by Potomac Review and will be judged by David Lott, and now, in addition, by Courtney Ford. Courtney and David will be working together to choose the winning poem.

David Lott, a Montgomery College (MD) professor with over 20 years experience teaching literature to undergraduates, is also Associate Editor at Potomac Review and Poetry Editor at The Sligo Journal. His recent bilingual collection of poems, New to Guayama (2017, reviewed by Grace Cavalieri in The Washington Independent Review of Books and available on Amazon), concerns his experience of becoming acquainted with life in small-town Puerto Rico.

Courtney Ford is a wife and aunt living in Dover, Delaware. A graduate of Vermont College of Fine Arts, her work has appeared in Grub Street, Past Ten, and a variety of online publications. Courtney has volunteered as an associate poetry editor for Potomac Review since 2014.

I would like to welcome them to this annual tradition. Like me, they are looking forward to reading your poems.

  1. Hey Mike, any THEME for this’s year “30” ? Or just ANY poem?
Either way, it’s so nice to see April’s almost here. The rather nice weather (sometimes) here in Phila. also helps…
