Our next poet is Maria Luperini whose poems will be presented over the next few days. Here is her bio:
Maria Luperini was born and has lived all her life in Genoa, a city that she loves profoundly for it’s liberal spirit, its historic center, and the sea. She worked at the Justice Administration for almost 40 years while cultivating her passion for poetry and literature in general.
She has published an anthology of poems and some novels and attends literary conferences and gives public readings and presentations of books, including those of others.
Luperini has been writing since she learned to hold a pen. She is somewhat shy, so writing has been a natural means of expressing her vision of the world, her critical (discerning) spirit and her feelings. In her poetry, she seeks sincerity and an encounter with the soul of others through the musicality of verse and the precision of language. Through this possibility of meeting, she believes that poetry is an instrument of peace and hope.

Sono nata e tuttora vivo a Genova, città che amo profondamente per lo spirito libero, il centro storico e il mare. Ho lavorato nell’Amministrazione della Giustizia per quasi quarant’anni, coltivando allo stesso tempo la mia passione per la poesia e la letteratura in genere.
Ho pubblicato una silloge di poesie e alcuni romanzi. Faccio conferenze letterarie, pubbliche letture e presentazioni di libri, anche di altri.
Scrivo da quando ho imparato a tenere in mano la penna. Sono un po’ timida e questo è sempre stato il modo naturale di esprimere la mia visione del mondo, il mio spirito critico e i miei sentimenti. Nelle mie poesie cerco la sincerità e l’incontro con l’anima degli altri, attraverso la musicalità del verso e la precisione del linguaggio. Per questa possibilità d’incontro, credo che la poesia sia uno strumento di pace e di speranza.
