Maria Luperini – Vele sul mare d’inverno / Sails on the winter sea

Vele sul mare d’inverno

Lampeggiano colori nell’acqua cinerina,
fuochi fatui accesi dalle mani del vento.
Si lasciano alle spalle spiagge estive,
solitarie d’inverno, senza festa,
in attesa dei sogni di stagione.
Così navighiamo sulla mutevole acqua
in abbandono ma vigili di tempeste.
Lanciati in corsa come grida al vento
con i colori d’una gioia antica
oltre il terreno limite delle rive,
la precaria armonia di questo cielo.

Sails on the winter sea

Colors glow in ashen water,
will o' the wisps lit up by hands of wind.
They leave behind summer shores,
lonely in winter, no zest,
waiting for the season to dream.
Thus we sail on changing water
no constraints but wary of storms.
We are adrift as a cry to the wind
our colors glow an ancient joy
beyond the outer banks,
the precarious harmony of the sky.
