When All Else Fails, There’s Always Poetry to Soothe the Soul

Here’s one

Clouds

almost touched myself today

            not far
            from the place
            that separates time

time and time again
clouds have seized me by the hand
have bundled me off to the edge of the sky

            where the ice man lies
where truth is humbled into stony silence

if you ask me
where the sun shines
I will point
to a hole in the heavens

there
beside the still, shallow pool
with your eyes tuned to God
you might gather your reflection
into a clarion bell of light
