It saddens me to think of what the Palestinians go through on a daily basis. I don’t think we can really imagine how heartless it all is. Reconciliation is a goal worth putting time and effort into. Is it possible to get a PDF of this article? Can you recommend one book that would be helpful to read?
Hi JO: Thanks so much for your comment. Yes, the Palestinian plight is really not very well known. I am intimately familiar as my wife is Palestinian so I’ve heard the stories from her family. One book I would like to recommend which is poetry, not history, is this one: Before There Is Nowhere to Stand: Palestine | Israel: Poets Respond to the Struggle, edited by Grace Beeler and Joan Dobbie. This is a book of poems by Palestinian and Israeli poets, some famous and some not so famous, all addressing their hopes and fears and struggles about the situation. I am also lucky to have a poem in there.
thank you, Mike. I have just ordered the book. I’m most appreciative.
