Re(En)Vision Day 28: Pat Jacobs

THE BIG FAINT

THE BIG FAINT

(Original Version)
I never fell out before So when I got up off the floor
It was as big a surprise to you as to me
‘cause I never fell out, you see

They say that the ladies of old, always felt faint in their soul
They would fan themselves briefly, and set their face grief-ly
To prepare for the dramatic unfold

They would gracefully fall to the floor, raising their petite hands up a bit more
Making sure petticoats stayed down, they would fall to the ground
In an artistic way men adore

But I never fell out before, I never fell down to the floor
I saw all those eyes, I saw their surprise
And I wanted to get out the door

So I picked myself up best I could, and I tried to look calm and look good
But there were so many stares, penetrating put on airs
That I really just did what I should

I smiled as they all smiled at me, shook my head and moved so gingerly
Hoped the look on my face would embarrassment erase, as I walked hurriedly to the door,
‘Cause I never fell out before.

THE BIG FAINT
(Re(En)Visioned)

I never fell out, so when I got off the floor, it’s a big surprise (for) you as to me cause I never fell out, see?

They say that ladies of old, always faint in their soul, would fan themselves briefly, set their face griefly, prepare for the dramatic, (and) they would gracefully fall (on) the floor ,raising their hands up a bit, making sure petticoats stayed (in place),they would fall to ground in an artistic (show) men adored.

But I fell out (this time)I fell down to the (ground) ,and(when) I saw all those (faces), I saw their surprise ; I wanted to get (to) the door, so I(grabbed) myself up best I could, and tried to (be)calm and look good.

There were so many stares., (I) put on airs that really just did (what a lady) should. I smiled as all smiled at me, shook my head and moved gingerly, hoped the look my face would (hide the) embarrassment as I walked hurriedly (toward) the door. Cause now I fell out before.
