Put an Apple in Your Story
Take a medium apple and shoot it off her head
like a whiskey glass. Make a toxic
bomb of “Welcome to the neighborhood,”
This works in most neighborhoods.
Here is an apple – I promise results
in body, mind, or baking.
Be fit in your fig leaf, a beauty in your coffin,
And teacher’s pet until the teacher turns you.
All the magic of autumn in its flesh,
the crispness of its chilled wax skin,
no matter when your apple falls
it thuds like a drunkard
and doesn’t roll far.
