Rebecca K. Leet

Silent Volumes

Muted by ninety years, she rocks on the creaky glider
and braids rags into rugs, spinning stories she cannot share.

  1. Joan Dobbie says:

Yes, Rebecca. When I was caring for my Mom at the end of her life, I met a man who was doing the same sort of thing. He said to me, “We’re up next, so we better be good.” Thank you for your poem.

  2. MaryJo says:

My grandma did that very thing. I still have two small rag rugs that she wove. Your poem is lovely.
