Sylvia Dianne Beverly is a native of South East Washington, D.C. and alumni of Anacostia H.S. and The University of District of Columbia. She is an Internationally acclaimed poet and author, presenting poetry in Brixton, London, England. Celebrating Black History 2018, she and her family received posthumously for her Dad’s bravery and valor during WW II a “Congressional Gold Medal” from the United States Marines.
