Pre-publication Reading from Al di là del mare / Across the Sea: Contemporary Italian and Italian-American Poetry

Art4Us presents The Postcard, a collective fine art exhibition featuring 30 painters and sculptors who explore a theme inspired by Plato’s “Allegory of the Cave.” Art4Us is a cooperative of international artists whose work spans painting, photography, sculpture, and jewelry. Throughout February, Art4Us will host a series of events in conjunction with the exhibition. On Sunday, February 15, 2026, at 2:00 PM, Mike Maggio will introduce his forthcoming anthology Al di là del Mare (Across the Sea), which highlights contemporary poets from Italy and the United States. Readings from the anthology will be presented by Mike Maggio, Maria Lisella, and Chloe Ylena Miller. The program will conclude with Vinod Busjeet sharing selections from his upcoming poetry collection A Cosmopolitan Journey.

Upcoming Workshop: Collage Poetry

Join me for an exciting 2-week workshop on collage poetry. This two week workshop will consist of the following:

  • A brief history of collage beginning with the cento
  • The differences and similarities between the cento and modern collage poetry
  • Examples of both cento and collage poetry
  • Types of material suitable for collage poetry
  • Techniques for gathering material
  • Discussion about documentation of sources to avoid plagiarism

Participants will gather material for the creation of a collage poem and, during week 2, will present their poems for workshop.
