Just in time for Valentine’s Day, I am offering a 5 week workshop on the love poem.
During this workshop, participants will;
- Read and discuss love poetry from across the ages, from Sappho to Shakespeare, from Rumi to Neruda and beyond.
- Explore types of love poems (romantic, filial, unrequited, etc.)
- Explore form and prosody as related to love poetry
Workshops will consist of lectures and discussions. There will be weekly assignments and in-class critiques leading up to the creation of a love poem for that special person in your life, just in time for Valentine’s day.
