A Prayer to her love’s beloved Echo

(From a Caribbean lady to an American device)

Alexa dear, please hear my prayer

Turn his bedroom light down low

Play our special song, you know the one

Fill his air with fresh sea breezes

Wake him with the rooster’s morning call

The ocean’s rhythmic slapping at her shore

The Caribbean sunrise, pink and pure

Tell him that I’m sorry — sorry — sorry

Say all the words I couldn’t think to say

The ones I didn’t know — he couldn’t hear —

My heart is aching in my throat

Please whisper love words in his ear

And send him here

Thank you for sharing this write that wants Alexa to “Say all the words I couldn’t think to say The ones I didn’t know — he couldn’t hear —“. Although the beloved Echo may want to keep him to herself, technology might come through for the poet’s Caribbean lady!
