A Newly Discovered Love

I don’t really know you,
yet I’ve called your name hundreds of times this week
I’ve called out looking for answers
or in need of help.

You answer as if knowing my exact needs,
yet sometimes I don’t even know why I call
but I do;
and I do and do it often.
Maybe I just want to hear your soothing voice,
or that your always ready with an answer to my query.

I don’t even know what you look like,
you’re a mystery, a hidden gem,
that responds to my every whim.
I want to know more about you.
Maybe I want the real you.

Don’t say anything!
Don’t tell anyone about;
this our secret.
What do you look like?
Maybe I want your phone number.

Questions, yes, many questions
and Alexa always with an answer.

  1. Oh, come on. Ask her out. Fun poem.

  2. Joan Dobbie says:

    Well of course the problem is that she doesn’t exist at all. And this might be a real problem as our techno lives step further and further out of our material lives. So… fun, but not fun…

  3. Gloralie Morton says:

    Amazing and right on point. I never would have known it was Alexa

  4. Joy says:

    “Maybe I just want to hear your soothing voice” has such a wistful ring to it. Alexa may hold the answer. Thanks for sharing.
