A Review of Marianne Szlyk’s I Dream of Empathy

Marianne Szlyk, whose poems have appeared on this site, has recently published a  chapbook called I Dream of Empathy.  I recently had the opportunity to review this fine collection of poems for the The Midwest Review which has just been posted in their latest edition. Please congratulate Marianne. I hope you will have the opportunity to pick up her book, available from Flutter Press.

I really enjoyed reading your review and agree with you. I have Marianne’s book and have read it a couple of times now. She has a way with language and though much is not the way we would have wished, memory does carry us, and the empathy of Marianne’s writing. Wonderful choice .
