About Mike Maggio

Mike Maggio is the author of 10 books including poetry and fiction. His latest book, Let’s Call It Paradise (San Francisco Bay Press, 2022) won the International Book Awards for Contemporary Poetry in 2023.  In 2019, he was nominated for Virginia Poet Laureate, and he has served as both Northern Virginia Vice-President and Centennial Chair for the Poetry Society of Virginia. In 2007, he was the recipient of a grant from the Puffiin Foundation.

Mike also serves as an associate editor for Potomac Review and writes book reviews for Washington Independent Review of Books.

Mike is available for events, workshops and appearances at poetry festivals and other gatherings. He also provides editing services for those who are interested in having their work reviewed and prepared for publication.  He provides both individual and group workshops in poetry and fiction online, though he prefers face to face instruction.
